Longtime KGW Anchor Brenda Braxton Leaving After 34 Years

Brenda Braxton will be leaving Portland NBC affiliate KGW after 34 years.

Braxton started at the station in 1989. She wrote a message to KGW viewers to announce her departure:

“Sitting down to write this seems surreal,” she wrote. “Where to start? How about the “who, what, when, and where” that’s mandatory in any news story? Who: Me. What: I’m leaving KGW. When: November 22nd. Where: Your TV.”

“We’re grateful to Brenda for her longtime dedication to this station and, more importantly, to our community. Her consummate professionalism and commitment to telling stories that matter represent the very best of KGW,” said KGW news director Greg Retsinas.

Braxton also said that “life is full of new chapters and I’m about to embark on my next one. I’m not sure where I’ll land but I’m looking forward to the journey!”
