Longtime Bakersfield Anchor Mike Hart to Step Away From Anchor Desk

Mike Hart is stepping away from the anchor desk at Bakersfield, Calif., ABC affiliate KERO after 32 years, four months, and 11 days.

Hart won’t be leaving the station. He’ll take on a managerial role, overseeing the next generation of reporters at the station.

The station said when he started at the station in 1991, it was a CBS affiliate, the Bakersfield Dodgers were playing at the Sam Lynn Ball Park and the city population was around 180,000 people. Now, roughly 400,000 people live there.
