Former WTNH Anchor Stephanie Simoni Joins WFSB in Hartford

By Kevin Eck

Yesterday, we reported that WTNH anchor Stephanie Simoni left the Hartford-New Haven ABC affiliate on Thursday.

Today, we report she won’t have far to travel for her next gig. Simoni was hired by CBS affiliate WFSB to anchor that station’s newest newscast at 7 p.m.

“Stephanie Simoni will be joining us as the solo anchor of our 7pm news when it debuts May 2nd!” said a memo obtained by local paper The Laurel. “Stephanie will also report for our afternoon and evening newscasts and fill in on the desk as needed.”

The newscast will replace Inside Edition, which currently airs at 7pm.

The Laurel said the move will reunite her, in a professional sense, with her husband Roger Susanin who is a reporter for WFSB.

Simoni had worked at WTNH for ten years before making the in-market move.
