Scripps’ Denver ABC affiliate KMGH has hired producer Megan Jurgemeyer to lead its news department as senior director of news, effective August 14.
Jurgemeyer was the news director at Denver NBC affiliate KUSA until April. She worked her way up after joining the station as a senior producer in 2013. Before that, she spent three years as a news producer at KMGH and two years as a reporter, anchor and producer at KREX in Grand Junction.
“Megan is a seasoned newsroom leader,” said Dean Littleton, senior vice president for Scripps Local, and former vice president and general manager of KMGH. “From reporting to editing and producing, she understands the newsgathering essentials as well as how to guide teams to connect with their audiences. Her leadership acumen and commitment to journalism make her a great fit for Scripps.”
