Minnesota Meteorologist Chris Kuball Moving to Iowa Station

Chris Kuball is joining Des Moines, Iowa ABC affiliate WOI next month.

Kuball comes from KAAL in Rochester, Min.., where he’s the station’s chief meteorologist.

The Des Moines Register said Kuball joins WOI on June 12 as the mid-day and 5 p.m. meteorologist.

“I’ve been presented with an offer I couldn’t refuse and one that gets me back home to where I grew up,” Kuball wrote on Facebook. “I’m excited for the position that I have dreamed of for years! It’s my ticket back home. It gets me ‘normal’ hours, which is a unicorn in this business and will greatly enhance the family dynamic! Working late nights is hard! This move puts us much closer to our extended family and in an area we have so many friends.”

“Chris’ extensive experience and invaluable knowledge of meteorology is an asset to the Local 5 (WOI) Weather team as we work to keep viewers informed and safe,” said news director Perry Pace. “We are delighted to welcome Chris and his family home to Iowa.”
