CBS’ Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer dominated Sunday public affairs program in both total viewers and the key A25-54 demo on April 26. Face the Nation won big with breaking news on the earthquake in Nepal and coverage of the situation in Baltimore surrounding the death of Freddie Gray.
NBC’s Meet the Press with Chuck Todd was second in both categories, while ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos finished third.
Face the Nation was up +40% in both total viewers and the demo, compared to the same week last year. Meet the Press finished up +19% in both categories, while This Week was down -16% in viewers and down -13% in the demo.
Fox News Sunday was up +4% in viewers and up +5% in the demo, while combining with cable replays for 3.1 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 1.99 million total viewers and 339K in the demo.
Face the Nation is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 76.3% of the country.
