Reliable Sources Highlights Matthews’ Clinton Comments

By SteveK

On CNN’s Reliable Sources today, Howard Kurtz discussed the way the media has treated Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama. Guests for the segment were Michael Medved and Rachel Maddow.

Kurtz played a video clip of Chris Matthewsexchange with Clinton at a campaign stop, and brought up his comments regarding Clinton’s success being based on Bill Clinton‘s infidelity.

Maddow (who spent a lot of time with Matthews on MSNBC during N.H. primary coverage) said she thought it was “hard to see” Matthews make the Clinton statement. She discussed the coverage as a whole, saying, “Something (is) going on with both the coverage of Obama and Clinton, which is pundits feel like, I feel, treat them in a way that is weirdly patronizing.”

The segment also looked at the Clinton crying coverage and the O’Reilly Shove.
