MSNBC’s Ari Melber Promoted to Chief Legal Correspondent

By Brian Flood

Ari Melber will officially become MSNBC’s chief legal correspondent, expanding his role covering legal policy and law enforcement issues for all of the network’s platforms. Don’t worry if you’re a fan of The Cycle, as Melber will continue his co-hosting duties in addition to his new gig.

To kick off the new role, Melber appeared on Morning Joe earlier today to preview a new, behind-the-scenes report on the FBI’s counter cyber operations in New York. He discussed how federal authorities are adapting to the rapidly evolving threats our country faces and the entire segment will air on The Cycle at 3pmET this afternoon.

Melber is a member of the New York Bar and during his time at MSNBC has covered major legal stories, including the Boston Marathon bombing case, the grand jury process in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases and various major Supreme Court decisions.
