Who Are TV’s Most Influential Politicos?

By Mark Joyella

Social analytics firm StatSocial shared its list of “most influential” journalists on Twitter with Politico, and the results are a bonanza of who-beat-whom–with some fairly unsurprising results.

No TV anchors or hosts were factored into the results–sorry, Jake Tapper–so the primary list of the most influential political journalists–Ezra Klein, Nate Silver and Mike Allen took the top spots–includes only one television contributor, Donna Brazile of CNN and ABC.

StatSocial broke down journalists by the political bent of their followers (complain to them, not to me, please) and found CNN’s Jeff Zeleny was the top television journalist in the “center” list, at number 12, followed by Dana Bash (15) and Peter Hamby (18).

On the right, CNN’s S. E. Cupp was the most influential among television journalists and contributors, at number 7, followed by Fox News’ Ed Henry (8), Greg Gutfeld (9), Tucker Carlson (10), ABC’s Rick Klein (14), and ABC’s Jonathan Karl (19).

The lack of TV anchors and hosts prompted Echelon Insights to release its own list, which includes the Chuck Todds and Wolf Blitzers, and is based on “data from our audience of Beltway Elites in Optimized Listening, which measures issue conversations among influential audiences inside the Beltway and beyond.” Well, then.

Here’s the list:
