In an interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade on Fox News Radio, former GE chairman and CEO Jack Welch confirmed that NBC did consider moving Brian Williams from “Nightly News” to “The Tonight Show.”
“We spent a lot of time talking about could he be a good replacement for Jay Leno. The guy has a wit that’s quick…he’s got many talents,” Welch said. “I like Brian a lot, he’s a terrific guy.”
Whether Williams will to return to “Nightly News” or not, Welch said he had no idea. “Your guess is as good as mine.”
