“Jeff brings a humanity to his reporting and will be a perfect fit on SATMO, as it is fondly called around the CBS Broadcast Center,” Zirinsky said in a statement. “Jeff and Brian Applegate, executive producer of CBS This Morning: Saturday, have an extraordinary history together and have known each other for more than two decades. I am thrilled they can build on their creative partnership with Dana, Michelle and the entire team.”

Glor added: “I’m looking forward to working closely with Brian [Applegate] again. The Saturday broadcast is a gem. Brian and his team have established a destination program for news, culture and music. I can’t wait to work with Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson. I’m also honored to follow in Anthony Mason’s footsteps, who is a writer, host, and colleague I’ve learned from for a long time.”

The network has also named Glor a CBS News special correspondent, reporting feature stories and investigative reports for the network.

Glor was named anchor of the CBS Evening News in late 2017, and his first broadcast as anchor on a permanent basis was December 4 2017.

His final broadcast as Evening News anchor was on May 10.

There was his interview with French President Emmanuel Macron, an  exclusive sit-down with VP Pence after the 2019 State of the Union, and his June 2018 interview with President Trump from his golf course in Scotland, where POTUS told him that he held Vladimir Putin“personally responsible” for meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
