Dotty Lynch’s Departure’s Part Of A Political Unit Restructuring At CBS News

TV Week has followed up on TVNewser’s report that CBS News senior political editor Dotty Lynch is leaving the network after 20 years.

“The move is said to be part of a restructuring of the political unit that predated the recent appointment of Sean McManus to president of CBS News as well as CBS Sports,” Michele Greppi says.

In a statement, Lynch said:

“My years at CBS News have given me an incredible opportunity to view American politics and politicians up close and personal. And after all these years my passion for politics, media and the role of women in society is as strong as ever.”

Her statement could leave some asking: Why is she leaving, then? Lynch is “currently working with the Shorenstein Center at Harvard on the topic of women on the op-ed page…”
