Nominations for the 80th Golden Globe Awards on Monday showed streaming still reigns supreme.

HBO Max saw nominations for seven series: The White Lotus and Hacks with three; Barry and House of the Dragon with two; and Euphoria, The Flight Attendant and The Staircase with one each.

Hulu followed with 10 nominations. Apple TV+ had six, and AMC/AMC+ had two. Disney+, Paramount Network, Showtime and Starz each had one nomination.

This is not the first time Netflix and HBO/HBO Max have gone head-to-head during awards season.

During this year’s Creative Arts Emmys, HBO/HBO Max beat out Netflix in a reversal from 2021.

HBO/HBO Max and Netflix were neck and neck heading into this year’s Primetime Emmys, but the distance between the two competitors only grew during the ceremony as HBO/HBO Max overcame Netflix, winning a total of 38 Emmys to Netflix’s 26.

In 2021, Netflix took home 44 Emmys, more than double HBO and HBO Max’s 19.
