Here’s When You Can Watch Black Adam on HBO Max

Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam will soon be streaming on HBO Max.

Fans will be able to stream the film beginning this coming Friday, Dec. 16.

In Black Adam, Teth Adam received the powerful gods’ powers in prehistoric Kahndaq. After employing his abilities for retribution, he was captured and transformed into Black Adam. After almost 5,000 years, Black Adam has evolved from a real person to a story and a legend. Now that he is free, the Justice Society, made up of Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone, challenges his one-of-a-kind brand of vengeful justice.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Black Adam sequel is unlikely, partly due to the poor box office performance. The movie had a huge budget of $190 million to $230 million, while only making $385 million at the box office. The budget, along with additional expenses and the division of earnings, means that Black Adam will, at best, only produce a pitiful profit that won’t encourage a sequel.

Additionally, management reportedly didn’t appreciate Johnson’s attempts to take matters into his own hands by disputing Black Adam’s box office figures and asserting that his and Henry Cavill‘s future positions in the DC were guaranteed.

From the scrapping of films like Batgirl and now Wonder Woman 3 to the hiring of James Gunn and Peter Safran as co-CEOS of the newly established DC Studios, the DCU has seen unparalleled change.

While things appeared to have calmed down and a big Black Adam vs. Superman plot was anticipated in the future, it now appears that this may not be in the cards.
