Based on the best-selling novel series by George R.R. Martin, Game of Thrones has received 59 Emmy wins and 161 nominations, making it the most decorated drama series in television history. The record-breaking drama is also HBO’s most watched show ever, with the final season averaging a staggering 46 million viewers in the United States.

The Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is set to premiere on Aug. 21 on HBO Max. Based on Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series is set 200 years before the events of the original show and tells the story of House Targaryen under the rule of King Viserys I.
