Adult Animated Comedy Bad Crimes Scrapped at Netflix

By Jessica Lerner

Netflix has canceled the adult animated comedy Bad Crimes before it even hits our screens.

The series, which the streamer ordered back in January, is being shopped to other platforms.

The show stars Nicole Byer and Lauren Lapkus as two FBI agents who juggle their relationship, professional goals and as many men as they can while traveling the nation to solve gruesome crimes.

Full Frontal With Samantha Bee writer Nicole Silverberg created the series, and King of the Hill co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels served as executive producers.

The cancellation follows Mike Moon‘s departure. Moon previously oversaw adult animation at Netflix until he resigned in July. Billy Wee, the previous senior vice president of comedy and animation at HBO Max, assumed the role.

Bad Crimes is not the first animated series to be canceled this year. The streamer shelved its version of the children’s comic book series Bone in April. A month later in May, it canceled Ava DuVernay’s Wings of Fire, preschool series Antiracist Baby and movie With Kind Regards From Kindergarten.
