hclo2god.gifHarperCollins will launch a new conservative books imprint, Broadside Books in January 2011. Adam Bellow has been named the head of this new division.

According to the New York Times, the imprint is currently set to publish titles including Death by Liberalism by J. R. Dunn, The Coming Entitlement Bomb by Peter Ferrara, and The Free Market Capitalist’s Survival Guide by Jerry Bowyer.

Bellow is the son of novelist Saul Bellow. He has worked as an editor at HarperCollins since 2008 and leans politically right. Prior to the Broadside promotion, authors on his list include Peggy Noonan, Mark Helprin, and Sarah Palin. In fact, he edited Palin’s forthcoming publication America by Heart.

Bellow had this quote in the NYT: “What I intend to do is uphold a standard of intellectual seriousness on the right. They should be written in a way that they are serious, soberly argued, well researched, and make a respectable case – agree or disagree.”
