McKinney is building out its New York office with the additions of Alex Shulhafer and Erin Christensen, who are serving as group creative director and group account director, respectively.

As part of the leadership team, the two will work alongside director of strategy Jasmine Dadlani, who joined McKinney New York last year.

Shulhafer previously freelanced, and prior to that was group creative director at 360i. Last year, she was named one of Adweek’s Rising Agency Stars.

“The people at McKinney are passionate and thoughtful unlike anywhere I’ve experienced in my career,” Shulhafer said in a statement. “I’m honored and excited to work with such a wonderful team and for the opportunity to help build the New York office.”

Christensen joins McKinney from McCann Worldgroup, where she was senior vice president and group account director. During her time there, she worked on Mastercard, serving as business lead in the development of “Start Something Priceless,” the evolution of the brand’s ongoing Priceless campaign.

“The energy at McKinney is palpable, given recent account wins, the LA office acquisition and new work in development,” added Christensen. “Jasmine is a strategic powerhouse and Alex brings serious digital and social creative talent to the table. Together, we are committed to building creative ideas that will drive business results for our client partners.”

McKinney, which is based in Durham, N.C., first opened its doors in New York in 2013. This was followed by a “reopening” of sorts in 2015, and since then the agency has brought on CEO Joe Maglio and expanded to Los Angeles via the acquisition of Operam Creative Group.

Last month, McKinney promoted Lisa Hughes to the role of executive director of account management.
