We keep hearing about Omnicom and HP from the olde email box. Brand Republic is the only media outlet we can see echoing the rumors. It seems, in case you’ve missed it, that Senior BBDO executives are chatting with HP about taking on a larger portion of the global advertising business. HP, unlike their competitor Dell, is currently using a bunch of agencies to handle its business mostly from the Publicis family and McCann Erickson.
We haven’t heard anything sense, but wouldn’t seem right for an agency to make a bid to HP the consolidation might make all the difference in whether Dell makes serious inroads on market share now that they are selling in retail outlets? Thumbs up to BBDO. We hope everyone else is holding down the fort and proving their value to HP.
