DDB Touts Apple Pay Integration in ‘Worn Jeans’ for Capital One

DDB touts Capital One’s Apple Pay integration in its latest spot for the brand, entitled “Worn Jeans.”

The ad opens on a pair of iPhones as they are removed from jeans and a purse before the voiceover states, “This is your new wallet. No, really,” it goes on explaining that you can now use your iPhone 6 to make a variety of purchases with Apple Pay and Capital One. It also explains that you can use the Capital One Wallet app to track your purchases. “Worn Jeans” is just the latest spot promoting Apple Pay accessibility, following ads from Chase and MasterCard. Being late to the game certainly doesn’t help, but “Worn Jeans” does little to differentiate the brand in the wake of its competitors efforts. The spot is set to debut tomorrow night at eight, during the Capital One Orange Bowl on New Year’s Eve on ESPN, after which the ad will appear across broadcast networks, cable and sports outlets. Broadcast efforts will be supported by digital and mobile initiatives.
