House Design Takes UGG to Iceland

House Design gave UGG spokesman Tom Brady a break with its latest ads for the brand, instead calling on DJ Jack Guinness and model Chrissy Teigen for its winter iteration of the brand’s “This is UGG” campaign.

The 15-second spot starring Guiness, debuted on the 26th, while Teigen’s “Soul Food” rolled out yesterday. Both ads, which were shot in Iceland, will run through February 1st. In “On The Rocks,” Guiness talks about his love of nature, which is something he says most people wouldn’t guess about him. Teigen, in “Soul Food” expresses a similar sentiment for “being in the moment,” which she describes as “food for the soul.”

Both ads are simple and direct, with the location chosen to reflect UGG’s more practical weatherproof, waterproof and water-resistant technologies — although the ads themselves fail to mention these aspects. “We’ve called upon Chrissy Teigen and Jack Guinness to serve as our brand ambassadors for our Winter 2015 ‘THIS IS UGG.’ campaign to bring attention to our compelling weather designs that transcend what traditional weather products look like,” said UGG President Connie Rishwain in a press release. “These are beautiful, yet highly functional products that also deliver the luxury and comfort that the UGG brand is known for.”
