LatinWorks Promotes Pair to EVP, ECD Roles

By Erik Oster

Following the departure of chief creative officer Sergio Alcocer a month ago, Omnicom Hispanic agency LatinWorks announced a pair of promotions: Christy Kranik will step up from senior vice president, managing director to executive vice president, general manager; while vice president, group creative director Gabriel Garcia will make the leap to executive creative director. In her new role, the agency’s creative and planning departments will report to Kranik, in addition to the account management, media and new business departments which had previously.

“The difference is everything reports into her now, including Gabriel,” Manny Flores, co-founder and CEO of LatinWorks, explained to AdAge. “She’s a very collaborative, knowledgeable leader. She won’t have influence over the creative product; Gabriel will make those decisions.”

Kranik arrived at LatinWorks nearly twelve years ago, in April of 2004. Before joining the agency she spent nearly five years with Dell, arriving as print advertising manager, Dell Home Systems in August of 1999 and working her way up to senior advertising manager, global brand strategy before her departure.
