Jordan Davis’ Mother Answers MSNBC Viewer Tweet: Michael Dunn ‘Took My Future’

By Jordan Chariton

The parents of murdered Florida teenager Jordan Davis appeared on “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” last night to react to the Michael Dunn verdict (Dunn was found guilty of second degree murder, but a mistrial was declared on the first degree charge).

“I asked people on Twitter what they wanted to tell you or ask you,” O’Donnell said, reading an emotional tweet from one fan.

Davis’ parents responded positively, saying support like Kevin’s tweet has helped them in their efforts to spread Jordan’s legacy.

O’Donnell then read a tweet from @barryshiller, who had a two-part question.

Ron Davis recounted how competitive Jordan was, wanting to beat his dad at everything from video games to sports.

Davis also answered what he would tell his son’s killer if given the chance, he’d explain what he should have done when Jordan failed to turn down his music. Jordan’s mother said she’d tell Dunn what he’s taken from her:

“Not only did you take Jordan’s life, but you took my future,” Lucia McBath said. “I won’t have grandchildren, I will never have a daughter-in-law, I will never have all of those things that you see in your children as your legacy. I don’t have those things anymore.”
