Well over three years ago, Microsoft and Bungie announced the release of the third installment of Xbox’s most popular franchise, Halo, with a very dramatic commercial called “Believe” (followed by one of the biggest multi-faceted campaigns ever). While the ad’s serious tone begged to be mocked by some other game developer, the time spent on “Believe” and the utilization of talent to execute the perfect parody probably didn’t seem worth it back in 2007. In 2011, the parody finally happened, and EA totally pulled it off.
As gaming website Joystiq reports, they received a wooden crate containing hay, leaves and a tiny full-functioning briefcase. The tiny briefcase contained even tinier bottles of booze, glassware and a small jar of Aspirin with “Graysonbelieves.com” written on it. Typing the website in the address bar led to the above “hidden” YouTube video, which takes the somber tone out of the original Halo 3 preview.
And, if we’re to believe the gameplay videos in the trailer, kicking a hot dog cart at an enemy and blowing it up is called a “Sausage Fest?” Maybe keep this one out of your kids’ hands.
