WXYZ Set to Broadcast from New Downtown Studio

In August we told you Detroit’s WXYZ was building a downtown studio for its noon show.

Today, JoAnne Purtan will anchor the first newscast from the glass enclosed studio. The station has booked special guests, like Carla Hall from the ABC show “The Chew” along with Detroit celebrities, community leaders and WXYZ personalities. The station is also giving out prizes to viewers.

“We are thrilled to now have a bigger presence in the city and to be part of the resurgence of downtown Detroit,” said WXYZ station manager, Mike Murri. “This studio allows us to create new connections with the people who live and work in the city, as well as those who are guiding the transformation of Detroit.”
