Chris Musial Named VP/GM at WBBZ

Chris-Musial2Everyone saw this coming: veteran TV executive Chris Musial has officially been named vice president and general manager at Buffalo independent station WBBZ.

Musial, who has been a consultant at the station for the past few months, replaces Bob Koshinski, who left WBBZ a few weeks ago.

“I look forward to serving our viewers and station growth through future projects,” Musial said in a statement.

Musial previously worked at Buffalo CBS affiliate WIVB and sister station CW affiliate WNLO, most recently as president and general manager. He supposedly retired in May 2013, after 36 years at the stations.

Buffalo Business First reports that WBBZ owner Phil Arno and vice president of sales, Ed Bassler, both worked with Musial when he was at WIVB.

“I know their dynamic together will continue to help WBBZ-TV grow,” Arno told Business First. “Chris is a total professional, dedicated to this business.”

Apparently his retirement was a short one.
