Netflix has released a new video on YouTube in the form of a newscast, that answers some lingering questions from its hit summer series Stranger Things.
The clip is an “archival newsreel” from fictitious WIYZ Channel 5 in fictitious Hawkins, Indiana.
One thing that is real: the anchor. Brenda Wood, an anchor at WXIA in Atlanta had a cameo in the series, and is the anchor of this “found” newsreel. On big difference: big 80’s hair, which is when the series is set.
A few weeks ago, Wood taped several segments for season two of the series which returns to Netflix next year.
