WUSA, the Tegna station in Washington, D.C., has named anchor Jan Jeffcoat’s replacement. And she’s coming from the competition.

Annie Yu, who a couple of weeks ago quietly left WTTG after 14 years, will join the team as the newest weekday morning anchor.

Yu will anchor Wake Up Washington and Get Up D.C. from 4:30-7 a.m.

“The show is funny, smart and interactive. Her distinct personality and passion for our community will fit right in with the unique voices we have in the mornings,” said station manager, Michael Valentine.

“I feel honored to be able to continue making a positive impact in my hometown and am extremely excited to join a station that I believe is paving the future for local content in the DMV. I look forward to ‘Getting Up’ in DC with a smile, alongside a talented, dedicated and inspiring team,” said Yu.

She joined WTTG, the Fox station, in 2004 as an assignment editor and worked her way up. Most recently, Yu co-anchored the weekend morning show.
