WTNH Anchor Darren Kramer Moving to Day Shift

By Kevin Eck

Hartford ABC affiliate WTNH viewers will see a change in the station’s late news anchor lineup starting next Tuesday.

According to the Hartford Courant, “Darren Kramer will not continue to anchor the station’s news at 10 and 11 p.m.”

WTNH said it made the move so Kramer can spend more time with his family.

He’ll be replaced by veteran anchor Dennis House who will co-anchor alongside Ann Nyberg.

Kramer will continue to anchor at 5 and 5:30 p.m. and will file special reports. House will continue as co-anchor at 6 and will still host This Week in Connecticut with Dennis House.

“Darren’s commitment to the people of Connecticut and his co-workers is unparalleled,” said Rich Graziano, vice president and general manager of WTNH and WCTX. “I am happy that Darren will now be home for dinner every night.”

“Being part of News 8 has been an awesome experience, and I am looking forward to returning to my roots after serving as an evening anchor for 15 years,” said House. “I have always seen Darren as an incredible journalist, and I am proud to call him a colleague. I hope to uphold his legacy alongside the legendary Ann Nyberg.”
