WTAE Anchor Kristen Powers Back On-Air After Suffering Concussion

By Kevin Eck

WTAE nightside anchor Kristen Powers is back on-air at the Pittsburgh ABC affiliate after suffering a concussion in a car accident.

Powers updated viewers on her Facebook page by saying her doctor gave her the OK to return to work.

“I’ll still be taking it slow as I continue to recover from a concussion, but I’m so happy to ease my way back into the swing of things,” wrote Powers. “I’m continuing vestibular and exertion therapy to decrease my concussion symptoms and improve my recovery. It’s helping a lot. I’ve learned it’s a slow and frustrating process at times, so I thank you for the grace and support!”

Powers had been off the air for a couple of weeks before she let viewers know where she was. On March 8, she said she had been hit while stopped at a red light two weeks before and had suffered a concussion.

She joined WTAE in 2022 after working at WJLA in Washington, D.C.
