NBCUniversal plans on awarding nearly $2.5 million to nonprofit organizations in 11 NBC and Telemundo owned station markets this year.
For the first time, the grant program will provide unrestricted funds to eligible nonprofits with total expenses less than $1,000,000.
“NBC Chicago, Telemundo Chicago and NBC Sports Chicago are grateful for the local nonprofits that work hard every day to make a difference,” said Kevin Cross, president and general manager of NBCUniversal Local Chicago. “With this financial support, the grant winners will be able to make an even bigger impact in the community.”
The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, NBC and Telemundo owned television stations will fund organizations that are doing work in three specific areas: Youth Education and Empowerment, Next Generation Storytellers and Community Engagement. These grants are general operating grants, and your application will be reviewed based on overall work and impact in the local community.
In order to be eligible for the NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants, non-profits must meet the following requirements:

The applications can be submitted online at www.localimpactgrants.com between now and April 21. Applications are also available in Spanish at www.becasdeimpactolocal.com. Winners will be announced later this year.
