Callie Starnes has been named station manager of Chattanooga, Tenn. NBC affiliate WRCB.
Starnes, who will assume the new position immediately, will also continue working as news director at the station. At the end of the year, she will move into the general manager role when the station’s current gm, Pam Teague, is promoted to COO of parent company Sarkes Tarzian, Inc.
“Callie truly deserves the opportunity to lead Channel 3 as its General Manager,” said Tom Tolar, Sarkes Tarzian’s COO. “She is passionate about providing outstanding service to our viewers, community and advertisers. Her leadership and focus have produced impressive results for the Eyewitness News Team. I am confident she will use those same leadership and decision-making skills to continue the strong performance of WRCB.”
Starnes first joined WRCB in 2008 and worked as an anchor and investigative reporter until 2014, when she went to work at a local PR firm. She returned to work as assistant news director in 2015 and was named news director in 2016.
