WPIX News Director Leaves Next Week

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

WPIX news director Amy Waldman is leaving the station after four-and-a-half years in the lead role.

Walman is being replaced by Vickie Burns, who has been named the station’s vice president of news and content. She has also been consulting for the Tribune station in New York for the past year.

Burns has run a handful of top market NBC owned and operated stations over the years, including a long stint at KNBC in Los Angeles.
