Chicago NBC-owned station WMAQ has promoted reporters Katie Kim and Regina Waldroup.
Kim was named investigative reporter while Waldroup has been named full-time general assignment reporter.
“Katie has done a terrific job as a general assignment reporter since joining us nearly two years ago,” said Frank Whittaker, station manager and vp of News. “With a solid background in investigative reporting, she’ll be a perfect addition to NBC 5 Investigates.”
Kim has worked at WAMQ since 2014 after working at KRQE in Albuquerque, N.M. Waldroup returned to the station in 2013 after starting as an intern there.
“Regina has earned this promotion with her hard work and can-do attitude, along with her excellent reporting,” said Whittaker. “She will be a great asset to our news team.”
