WLS Gets Big Win From Cubs on Opening Day

By Kevin Eck

Monday night, the Cubs delivered an increase in viewership for WLS despite a late game start pitting the station’s broadcast against the NCAA men’s basketball finals.

The Cubs game, which started at 9 p.m., gave the ABC-owned station a 4.1 in adults 18-49, which is up 242 percent over last year’s average viewership.

“It was easily the highest rated game ever on WLS and more than tripled last year’s season average in most key demos.” said the station.
