The Wichita market will look a little different in the coming weeks.
Cindy Klose (pictured right) at CBS affiliate KWCH and Susan Peters (left) at ABC affiliate KAKE have announced they are leaving their respective stations on the same day.
Klose came from CNN Headline News in 1991.
“People always have asked why I came to KWCH from CNN and why I stayed here,” said Klose. “I wanted to report the local news that affected my life, as well as the viewer’s. Changing technology over these 25 years kept news gathering interesting and challenging.”
“Since Cindy’s arrival KWCH 12 has seen continual success with dominant ratings at 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.,” said the station.
Peters started at KAKE in 1995. She worked at KWCH from 1983 until 1991 then went to work at KFMB in San Diego.
“For years, my passion has been the people of Kansas,” Peters said. “I love this state. But for the past year I have felt a calling to help Kansas families by focusing on children in need of a forever home.”
Peters said she wants to work on her “Susan’s Kids” series, which finds adoptive parents for kids.

Peters, an Emmy Award winning reporter and anchor, received the Silver Circle Emmy Award in 2015 from the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences. The award recognizes excellence in a broadcaster’s entire body of work.
The last day on-air for Peters and Klose is Wednesday, May 25.
