WFTX Names New Vice President and General Manager

WFTX, the Scripps owned Fox affiliate in Fort Myers, Florida, is getting a new general manager.

Darryll Green will assume his new role as vice president and general manager on August 14.

“Darryll has the right combination of experiences and expertise to make that station a leader in the community, both on the content side and as an economic driver for local businesses,” said Debbie Turner, vice president of station operations for Scripps. “He has a strong track record for increasing revenue, developing effective teams and growing TV and digital audiences.”

Green comes from a TV and radio broadcast background. His comes to Scripps from Urban Broadcasting Radio, where he oversaw six radio station and from 2003-2007, he want president and general manager at WUSA in Washington D.C.

He recently completed the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation’s Broadcast Leadership Training program.
