Legendary Connecticut Meteorologist Is Leaving

Legendary Connecticut meteorologist, Brad Field, returned from vacation last week and made an announcement that took co-workers and viewers by surprise, he’s retiring.

According to the Darien Patch, Field, who’s been forecasting weather at the NBC Connecticut in Hartford for 34 years, sent a memo to the staff about his departure. His final day hasn’t been announced.

Field has made a statement about his retirement on social media or on-air yet. He has retweeted comments from viewers who are sending their well wishes.

A few weeks ago the longtime meteorologist posted a throwback video of him forecasting a tornado outbreak in Connecticut in 1989.

According to his bio, he was recently inducted into the prestigious Silver Circle for 25 years of service to Connecticut
