WFMY Anchor Tracey McCain Leaving Local TV to Start Her Own Fitness Brand

WFMY morning anchor Tracey McCain is signing off from the Greensboro, N.C. CBS affiliate to spend more time with her family and start her own personal fitness brand.

“My children are 7, 5, and 2. Right now, Josiah, Simone and Julian need me at home,” said McCain. “They’re growing up so fast. I don’t want to miss it!”

McCain joined WFMY in 2006 and worked her way up to the anchor desk. She anchored the Weekend Good Morning Show for 4 years and then the Good Morning Show for the last 12 years.

She started her career at WSHM in Springfield, Mass., before working at WFSB in Hartford, Ct.

McCain is a certified coach and fitness instructor and plans to launch her fitness brand under the AWOL Fitness umbrella. She currently coaches at the Greensboro-based fitness center three days a week but will expand those hours under the Train with Tracey brand this summer. She also plans to start working as a motivational speaker.

“Flexibility in my schedule is going to be key. I also get to pursue my other passion which is helping women experience life-changing, and often lifesaving, weight loss transformations,” said McCain.
