WBZ news director Gary LaPlante is no longer at the Boston CBS-owned station, TVSpy has confirmed with a WBZ spokesperson.
It was also confirmed, as New England One first reported, that assistant news director Johnny Green was named interim news director this morning.
LaPlante joined WBZ in August 2014 from then Fox-owned WFXT in Boston, where he was assistant news director.

He’s worked as news director at WXXA in Albany, N.Y., assistant news director at WTEN in Albany, and executive producer at WFSB in Hartford, Conn.
