WBTV Bumps Assistant News Director to News Director Role

WBTV is bumping up its assistant news director Kim Saxon to the news director spot in Charlotte, N.C. She will replace Dennis Milligan, who is retiring after 18 years at the Gray Television station on May 24.

“Saxon is an award-winning journalist who has distinguished herself with over 15 years at WBTV, serving as producer, executive producer and currently as assistant news director where she has worked the last five years,” said WBTV vice president and general manager Scott Dempsey. “Her attention to detail, strong organizational skills and aptitude in strategic planning will be instrumental in building upon WBTV’s success.”

“I’m proud of and thankful for the opportunities WBTV has created for me over the last 15 years and welcome this new challenge,” said Saxon. “I am excited to lead a team of talented, dedicated professionals in our mission to keep earning this community’s trust with our commitment to quality local journalism.”

She will start her new role in May.
