Ty Steele has been promoted to evening anchor for Sacramento, Calif. NBC affiliate KCRA.

Steele was a morning anchor at the station. He will co-anchor alongside Lisa Gonzales at 4 p.m. and Edie Lambert at 7. He’ll also join Andrea Flores as co-anchor of the 10 p.m. newscast on My58.

“Ty’s dedication to the community we serve is a positive force in our newsroom,” said KCRA president and general manager Ariel Roblin. “His hard work and desire to bring the big interviews to our viewers is motivated by the genuine responsibility he feels to ask the questions our community wants answers to.”

“What makes KCRA 3 great is its commitment to focusing on stories that bring communities together,” said Steele. “I’m grateful to work at a station where the viewers truly do come first. I feel lucky to continue to grow as a journalist on evenings with so many experienced, caring and talented team members by my side. I’ll miss my morning show team, but at KCRA 3, we’re all one big family.”

Steele worked at Sacramento station KTXL before joining KCRA in 2018. He’s also worked at KMTR and KVAL in Eugene, Oregon.
