Veteran Toledo, Ohio anchor Jeff Smith is joining the city’s CBS affiliate, WTOL.
Smith will join co-anchor Melissa Andrews, meteorologist Robert Shiels and sports director Jordan Strack on the weekday 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts.
“I want viewers to know how I am not only honored to have earned their trust over the years, but also how fortunate I feel to have this opportunity to connect and reconnect a region that shaped who I am,” said Smith.
Smith last worked at Toledo ABC affiliate WTVG. He left the station in July after working there since 1998. Before that, he worked at WPBN-WTOM in Traverse City, Mich.
The station says he’ll be on air “in the coming weeks.”
