D.C. Station Fights Back After Rival Says It ‘Will Get Owned’

WTTG came out strong with a promo for its new 4 p.m. show in D.C. last week.

The promo took a shot at the market leader, WRC, the NBC station which also has a 4 p.m. newscast on Channel 4 locally. It said “beginning on July 8, 4 will get owned by Fox 5.”

On May 31, WRC’s news director Mike Goldrick posted his own promo. This one highlighted the station’s successful May book which put them in first place in a number of time slots, including the 4 p.m.
