Telemundo Puerto Rico Launches Consumer Investigate Unit

WKAQ, the Telemundo owned station in Puerto Rico, announced it has launched Telemundo Responde, a consumer investigative unit.

The new consumer unit will be headed by Zugey Lamela, who joined Telemundo Puerto Rico in December 2014.

WKAQ joins WNJU in New York, KVEA in Los Angeles, as well as Telemundo stations in Miami-Fort Lauderdale (WSCV), Houston (KTMD), Dallas-Fort Worth (KXTX), San Antonio (KVDA) and San Francisco Bay Area (KSTS) in launching the Telemundo Responds consumer unit.

“Telemundo Puerto Rico is dedicated to providing the best news and information for our viewers and today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to serving the people of Puerto Rico,” said Jose Cancela, president and GM of Telemundo Puerto Rico. “Telemundo Responde has stood up for thousands of consumers across the United States and we are launching it here to ensure that our community has a chance at getting the assistance they need. Our Telemundo Responde team will always fight for our viewers and the communities we serve.”
