Telemundo Names Miguelangel Lopez Regional VP of News and Content

Telemundo 31 Orlando (WTMO) vice president of News Miguelangel Lopez has been named regional vice president of News & Content for Telemundo 31, Telemundo 49 Tampa (WRMD) and Telemundo Fort Myers (WWDT).

He will continue to report to Jose Suarez, president and general manager of Telemundo 31 Orlando, Telemundo 49 Tampa and Telemundo Fort Myers.

“Miguelangel’s expanded responsibilities reflect his proven leadership, immense experience in news and original content, and dedication to journalistic excellence,” said Suarez. “We are fortunate to have talented and committed newsroom professionals across the stations, and excited to have Miguelangel in position to lead them to continued growth and success to best serve our diverse communities.”


Lopez has nearly 25 years of experience in Spanish-language media, including more than 18 years with Telemundo Station Group and Telemundo Network, in leadership, production and on-air roles. Since 2021, he has led Telemundo 31 Orlando’s news operations. Before that, he was vice president of News for Telemundo 40 Rio Grande Valley (KTLM) in McAllen, Texas.
