Madison, Wisc. NBC affiliate WMTV saw a few staff changes in the last couple of weeks.
News director Russ Bruhn confirmed with TVSpy chief photographer Curt Lenz (pictured right) left the station last week to work at the Madison Convention and Visitors Bureau. The station hired former WMTV employee Jeremy Nichols to replace Lenz. Nichols was at the station from 1998 until 2005.
Weekend anchor and reporter Zach Nugent (pictured left) also left a week ago to work for the Humane Society. Bruhn says Nugent noted one perk of his new job is being able to take his dogs to work.
“Curt and Zach will be missed,” Bruhn told TVSpy. “They are good journalists and good people. I wish they were still in journalism but I know they are happy and excited about their new jobs.”
Bruhn welcomed his new chief photographer with a tweet:
Welcome to @jernichols The new Chief Photog in charge for @nbc15_madison. Perfect man the job. Glad he is back home.
