Wildfire coverage across Southern California hit home for KTLA entertainment reporter Sam Rubin.
“I just had a sense it was time to go,” he said in a phone interview with the station.
Rubin’s home is in the path of the Getty fire. He said in a phoner that his family decided to flee before firefighters forced them to evacuate.

Los Angeles stations have been covering wildfires around the clock as they’ve spread across the area.
