Shreveport GM James Smith to Retire

James Smith is retiring from Raycom’s Shreveport, La., CBS affiliate KSLA after 10 years.

“James demonstrated excellent leadership and dedication to KSLA and Raycom Media,” said Paul McTear, Raycom Media president and CEO. “I wish him all the best in his retirement.”

Smith started his career as a reporter and photographer at KZTV in Corpus Christi, Texas. He’s also worked as news director and anchor in Bryan-College Station, Texas, as news director at KPLC in Lake Charles, La., and vp and gm at WWAY in Wilmington, N.C.

“It has been a privilege to have been part of broadcasting for the past 41 years,” said Smith.
