San Antonio Assistant News Director Pleads: ‘Wear a Mask’

By Stephanie Tsoflias Siegel

KENS assistant news director James Keith is begging people to wear masks.

Keith is asking on behalf of his pregnant wife, who is a nurse in a San Antonio hospital.

“My beautiful wife and unborn daughter just left the house for a hospital in San Antonio,” Keith wrote. “Kendra will work a 16-hour shift screening people who go into the VA. Pray for her and our baby. WEAR A MASK, WASH YOUR HANDS, AND KEEP YOUR DISTANCE, too, please.”

Most of the KENS management team has been working from home since March. As TVSpy reported, Tegna implemented rules for employees company-wide to wear masks while in the office as some stations ease back into letting staffers back into the building.

Keith’s plea comes as Covid-19 cases in Texas are rising. This week, the state surpassed 200,000 confirmed cases, with more than 15,000 of them in the San Antonio area.
